Canadian-born, NYC-area-based D.D. Jackson is a disciple of pianists Don Pullen and Jaki Byard, with 12 CD’s to his credit featuring largely original music with artists such as David Murray, James Carter, and Dafnis Prieto. He is also a two-time Emmy and Juno-award-winning composer and producer who has frequently collaborated with The Roots, a professor at Brooklyn College, and a published writer.
